Welcome Beautiful Humans!

Welcome to Embodied Within

A Safe Space for Movement, Healing & Community

For as long as I can remember, movement has been my language. It has been my anchor through change, my sanctuary in chaos, and my bridge to understanding both myself and the world around me. From my roots in Chinese cultural dance, ballet and modern dance (Martha Graham) to my deep dive into Pilates, barre, functional movement, and mindful movement, I’ve witnessed firsthand the magic of movement—not just as exercise, but as a way of living, healing, and reclaiming freedom in our own bodies.

Embodied Within was born from this passion—a space where movement isn’t just about perfection or technique but presence. It’s not about pushing through pain (a lesson I’ve learnt through my gruelling yet deeply fulfilling journey as a dancer), but about learning to listen, adapt, and move with intention. This is a community where we honor the intelligence of the body, embrace both strength and gentleness, and re-attune to what it means to express and move freely.

Who Am I?

Many of you know me as Winny, but I was incredibly blessed to have experienced a transformative journey last year where I was initiated with the name - Winota.

“Winota” is not a widely known name, but its phonetic resemblance to “Winona” suggests it may have roots in the Native American Dakota language, meaning “firstborn daughter.”

As the firstborn daughter of my family, I knew immediately that this name was destined for me.

The connection I felt upon receiving it was one of deep familiarity—a truly special moment where I realized that surrenderance births freedom.

My movement journey has taken me across many landscapes—dance, Pilates, barre, breathwork, mobility training, and women’s health. I’ve spent years refining my craft, blending traditional wisdom with modern science to help people not just move better, but feel better. Whether through performance, teaching, or healing, my goal has always been the same: to empower people to trust their bodies, reclaim their rhythm, and move without fear.

The Bigger Vision

This is just the beginning. Embodied WIthin isn’t just about classes or training—it’s about breaking free from the fear of judgment, reclaiming confidence in your body, and finding a community that supports you in every stage of your journey.

Growing up in the fast-paced and ever evolving city of Singapore, I often found myself caught in the relentless hustle – constantly chasing what’s next, never truly allowing myself to slow down. The only way I knew how to pause was through escapism – travelling so frequently that I would be away almost every month. But no matter how much I explored, I found myself dreading the return back to the hustle (a feeling I know many of us can relate to).

Don’t get me wrong – traveling opened me up to incredible experiences and perspectives that I will always be grateful for. Each journey became a way for me to meet myself on a deeper level, to expand beyond the constraints of routine. But even then, I carried the weight of never truly being present in the now.

As a freelance artiste for over a decade now, I also struggled with an ingrained sense of guilt for every rest day I took, as if slowing down meant falling behind.

That’s when I realised – something needed to change.

So if you’re feeling stuck in the cycle of constant hustle, always chasing what’s next, or relying on escapism just to breathe—know that you are not alone. Maybe you find yourself constantly busy, yet never feeling truly fulfilled. Or perhaps you’ve been longing for a pause that doesn’t feel like you’re falling behind. I see you. I’ve been there.

And that’s exactly why Embodied Movement Collective exists—to remind you that rest is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Presence is a choice, and movement can be your path back to yourself.

This vision first took form during the pandemic with Movez Collective, a project born out of the need for movement, healing, and connection in a time of isolation. Now, it has evolved into Embodied Within—a space where movement is not about doing more, but about simply being. A space for presence, connection and freedom

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time, seeking deeper alignment in your movement practice, or looking for a space where you can truly be yourself, know that you are very welcome here.
